Does anyone know if this is also a Black crowned Night Heron? The coloring is off because his chest should be white, but otherwise it looks the same. If you know what this is, please comment on this post. Thanks.

The second is a tricoloured heron. An equally elegant and interesting bird.

I have enough problems with the Grey Heron that visits our pond during summer looking for a free meal of koi.
Your post reminds me I’m am going to have to be on the lookout in a few weeks.
