Today is the Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun!

On October 13, 1917, as many as 70,000 people gathered at the site where Our Lady had been appearing to the children of Fatima – Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco. As everyone gazed upward they saw a silvery disc emerge from the clouds, known as the ‘sun miracle.’

Mary identified herself to the children as Our Lady of the Rosary. She urged people to repent by saying the Rosary and to build a chapel in her honor. Our Lady promised an end to the war and advised for people to amend their ways by asking pardon for their sins. In 1981, when Pope John Paul II was shot and seriously wounded, he attributed his miraculous survival of the shooting to the direct intervention of Our Lady of Fatima.

Our Lady of the Rosary,
help us to put an end to
actions that offend our Lord.
We yearn for the conversion of sinners.
Our Lady of the Rosary,
pray for us!

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

I enjoy interacting with each of you and have learned so much from you about photography and the world. I may never get to visit many of the places you are from or that you have visited, but at least, I can see other locations in the world through your eyes.
